Rex Clemenetine10-Jul-2001The Interim Committee of the board of Control for cricket in Sri Lanka,confirmed today that Ajith Jayasekara will continue as the Sri Lankan teammanager.A member of the Interim Committee, Michael Tissera, speaking to CricInfothis morning said, that Jayasekara’s contract has been renewed until the endof the Indian tour.Jayasekara, who played for Air Force Sports Club, replaced Neil Perera lastyear, his first assignment being Sri Lanka’s tour of South Africa inDecember 2000, where the team played three Test Matches and six One-DayInternationals.The local media had reported today that Jayasekara has been replaced byMichael Tissera. Tissera, however, who captained Sri Lanka in the inauguralWorld Cup in 1975 in England, denied this.
